"...if you're selling internationally the simplest and least expensive way to receive international funds into Australia is to use Paymate. The more we use and promote Paymate on our auctions the sooner it will become the normal accepted option for buyers to use when sending funds to Australia. It is safe, fast and simple for international users to use and most importantly the seller receives ALL of the final bid amount in their account. Your business will benefit and your bank account will grow faster.

...Paymate have now addressed the initial browser problems and international users are now able to use this payment system without any difficulty. My USA and UK buyers are commenting on how easy it is.More importantly, Paymate have have shown a willingness to discuss and address concerns put forward by both current and potential users. They have also been prepared to implement many of the suggestions that have been made in order to fine tune their service to suit your requirements. Their customer service has been excellent. Can you obtain this high level of service and commitment from ... other international payment services? I think not. All you can expect are fees, fees and more fees!"

"Paymate A+++
Had a phone call, well 3 actually, from Paymate yesterday trying to sort out a problem I had with upgrading my merchant status. I emailed them with my problem and they phoned me. A+++++++++ to their customer service. (Sandra), I think it was, was very helpful and fixed the problem for me quickly. If you haven't started using them, do it now. I am one happy customer."
"I am very pleased with Paymate's email response time. All within 2 hours and have not yet received one canned response. Helpful and friendly emails."

"Was just reading over this topic on Paymate and thought I should comment on the excellent service I got from them yesterday. I had a little trouble adding my account details and e-mailed them for help. It was only about 10 minutes and I got a reply back from their service department, which was wonderful. They kept e-mailing me back until I got my account added, very friendly e-mails and happy to bend over backwards to see what the problem was, I've got nothing but praise for their customer service, excellent."

Ted, you are a champion! The service you have given is above and beyond what I ever expected!! Thank you very much - I am now a loyal customer to Paymate. Thank you again, and keep up the good work!

"I received a prompt answer from Paymate and all my questions were answered in a way that could be understood. Paymate is now offering a service that many Australian sellers have been seeking for a long time."

"Okay that's it for this happy Ebay seller, no more mucking around with Debit cards/this Country that Country/confirm in triplicate and give your first born... I'm going to Paymate and like you (eBay member) will start on the $200. If I feel I need more (we can only hope) then I'll move up :o) "

"I think Paymate need to be congratulated for being innovative and trying to introduce a real alternative, and also trying to distribute the fees in a different, possibly more equitable way. "

"I have recently joined and they are fantastic. You can send an Invoice straight to buyer. Keep records and their customer service is excellent. You can also use it to pay for items bought. No I don't work for them but I have just had fabulous service from them and NO hassle from overseas buyers. Thanks."

"Let's say that an Australian customer buys an item off you for $A100, and decides to pay with (another Provider) - and let's say the $US value is $US50.

They will in fact pay 2.6% + 30c (US) to send you the money - ie $A3.10 - ignoring any margins that the bank puts into the transaction for their currency risks, their credit card will be debited $103.10 for the $100 transaction.

You, as the seller, also get charged 2.9% plus 30c on the $US50 or $US1.75 - so you get to keep $US48.25

Now, transfer this back to Australia - (another Provider) takes out $1.50 - which leaves you with $US46.75. The (another Provider) currency conversion is likely to be around 11% above the published rates - lets say 55c (generous) - You will get back just $A85.00 from a transaction that cost your customer $A103.10.

By contrast, if you opt for the $8.50 per month fee with Paymate, your customer will have paid $3.50 in fees, you pay nothing extra, the funds are available to you straight away in $A, you get to keep $100 of your money. There is also less margin for error in you making a $A to $US conversion in the initial price."
