You can use Paymate to receive online payments via credit card. You do NOT need to have a merchant facility with a bank, a secure website or gateway processor service. Simply register online to start receiving payments!

You can also use Paymate to make secure payments to any registered Paymate client, without disclosing your personal or financial details. You can use a credit card to make a payment from any of 57 countries, in Australian Dollars, New Zealand Dollars, US Dollars or other currencies. You do NOT need to be registered with Paymate to make an Express Payment via credit card!

The Company

Paymate is a US company with offices in Silicon Valley, USA, Ottawa, Canada, and Sydney, Australia. We provide information, risk and financial management services tailored for global e-commerce.

The Team

Paymate is managed by a small but highly experienced team with a background in banking, payments and information technology.

Garrett Gafke is a Director and Chief Executive Officer of Paymate and has a deep background in leading payments companies such as CyberSource, Trintech and Verifone. He has been building successful technology companies for over 20 years in Silicon Valley.

Dilip Rao founded Paymate in 2000 and remains President of the company. He has over 30 years of experience working in Information Technology and Management Consulting with banks and corporates in Australia, Asia and the USA. Dilip holds degrees in Physics, Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India.

Lori Poultney is Director, Finance and brings to Paymate a great deal of experience in rapidly emerging Silicon Valley companies including Medallia, Fat Box Films and Blanc and Otus Public Relations, a Hill and Knowlton Corporation. She holds a degree in Economics from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.

Craig Webber is Manager, Operations. Craig brings to Paymate over twenty years of banking experience encapsulating retail banking, commercial finance & cash management, most recently with Westpac, Australia's largest bank by market capitalization.

Pete Cion is VP, Development Engineering and has been in the electronics payment industry since 1993. As a Software Engineer and Engineering Manager, he has worked with such well known payments companies as Princeton TeleCom, HP/VeriFone, Trintech, CyberSource and Citibank. Pete holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Brown University in Providence, RI.

Ty Shipman is Senior Director of Engineering. Ty was one of the founders of Kagi an e-commerce leader in Internet software sales. He joins us with 14 years of experience in the e-commerce arena. Before co-founding Kagi Ty worked for a number of software and consulting firms where he held positions in management and engineering. He holds a BA, with honors, from UC Berkeley.

Peter Chen is Head of Production Engineering. He has 14 years of experience in systems development and architecture design, working with J2EE, Javascript, JSP, Hibernate, Spring, Oracle/SQL/Linux/AIX, JBuilder, JBoss, Tomcat/Weblogis, JDBC, ANT, Struts, XML, XSL.

Regulatory Compliance

Paymate holds an Australian Financial Services License (AFSL) which means we are regulated by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (the equivalent of the Securities & Exchange Commission in the USA) to protect the interests of our clients. This license requires Paymate to comply with strict financial and operational controls and be independently audited for both financial and license compliance on an annual basis.
